Damon Culver

I joined the board in January of 2008. I got involved in many Club activities, but my primary role for the last 15 years has been sponsorship.  With my background in management and the contacts I had accumulated over several years as a manager, I set out to get the world involved with our goals.  I wanted more excitement, more value added, more money, and to make the Club even more reputable than it already was.

Recognizing Damon’s Contributions:

  • The year before I started, the Challenge had just a few sponsors and approximately $4000 in added cash.  We now have risen to dozens of sponsors and to $100,000+.

  • Between my own events, studying others, and being involved with Club events, I have grown into a solid tournament director.

  • I've always been open-minded and supportive of other people's ideas and contributions, and whenever possible was willing to help make it happen.

  • Over the years of people coming and going from the board, I have aspired to be dependable, consistent, professional, respectful, and known for getting things done.

  • The Ice Bowl has broken attendance and donation records in recent years.  This is a Club effort and I have been happy to be the voice of it for the last 4 or 5 years.

The Club has been like a family to me, so I'll never be 100% gone.  I'm looking forward to changing up the routine staying involved, but with a little more relaxed schedule.  I wouldn't dream of slighting anyone else by taking credit for any of the milestones that happened with the Club in the last 15 years by myself, but it would probably break my heart if what I brought to the club was forgotten in a short amount of time.
